My Father/mother does not wear reading glasses so i may not have to. True ?

It is possible for some people to avoid reading glasses because they are near sighted in one or both eyes. As we get older it is practically impossible to see distance and close up without glasses in both eyes unless we are nearsighted in one eye (monovision).
